Apple officially uses 100% renewable energy worldwide

This is an important milestone for Apple in particular and the world in general.

Apple announced that its global facilities, including Apple Store retail stores, offices, data centers and many other facilities use 100% clean energy. Apple's facilities are located in 43 different countries around the world.

CEO Tim Cook emphasizes helping the world become better and better: "We are committed to helping the world become better. After years of hard work, we are proud to have achieved this milestone. We will not stop but continue to change both the use of materials produced in equipment, in order to recycle them and protect the environment. "

To reach the milestone 100% renewable energy, Apple has invested and built a lot of energy facilities around the globe. These are the solar panels used for the Apple Store, or the wind power fields used for data centers. In addition, Apple has a number of biotech energy facilities, hydration systems, and a variety of clean energy storage technologies.

Apple says it owns 25 renewable energy projects worldwide, with a total capacity of 626 megawatts. Another 15 projects are under construction and are expected to add 1.4 gigawatts of clean renewable energy in 11 countries.

This is one of the ambitions Apple has long cherished. Starting in 2014, 100% of Apple's data centers use renewable energy. By 2016, 96% of Apple's global facilities already use clean energy.

Since 2011, clean energy projects have helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 54 percent to around 2.1 million tons of CO2.
